What I Do

I lead the vWomen team to execute the vWomen Ministry toward discipleship.

About Me

I was born and raised in the small town of Thomasville, GA. I accepted Christ at a very young age, and always felt a strong call to share my faith with friends. I was also a social butterfly and while I was decent at school, it was not my top priority. . . . Friends were.

After high school graduation, I moved to Mt. Vernon, GA and attended Brewton-Parker College, where I earned a BA in Psychology. During college, I got my first taste of missions, both nationally and internationally, and I loved it. After college graduation in 2009, I moved to San Francisco as a summer missionary and the possibilities were endless. As the summer was winding down, I received a call from a former supervisor in the Cleveland, Ohio area, offering me a job with NAMB to serve as a missionary doing college ministry. So, I quickly moved back to GA, packed my Toyota Corolla with my belongings and moved 16 hours north to Ohio. God taught me a lot about his grace, power, provision, and myself during that time. And it was also during that time He began to use others to encourage me to look into seminary for a Master's degree in Counseling. I reluctantly began looking and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary somehow won me over.

I moved to New Orleans in the summer of 2011 and quickly found community at Vintage Church. It took me about 4 years to earn my MA in Marriage and Family Counseling and during that time I took a semester off from school and partnered with a missionary in Uganda, Africa. It's a beautiful country with the most beautiful people! You should go see for yourself! Entering my last year of grad school (2015), I met Josh, my amazing husband. We are now expecting our first baby in April! My entire experience in New Orleans has been absolutely nothing like what I expected! From moving here, to starting and loving grad school, to getting married and now serving with Vintage Church in this role, God has reminded me of His sense of humor and His bigger plans!

On my down time I enjoy being with Josh (because he's my favorite), catching up with friends over coffee, trying new restaurants in the city, cooking new recipes found on Pinterest, painting my nails (yes, I really do love this, ask anyone who knows me), reading, writing, and enjoying the sweet treat of Blue Bell's Cookie Two Step ice cream.
