Excited About United: Preparing for a Move of God

Sunday marks our first Vintage United Gathering. As we prepare to go to Rock N’ Bowl at 10am Sunday to meet with the Lord as a united body, God has impressed on me there is some personal preparation to be done.  Pastor Rob challenged the staff yesterday to focus on Jesus and to fast from something the two days leading up to the united gathering. The Lord impressed on me something to fast from the next two days and I will honor God’s leading.

Question: What do you expect God to do at the United Gathering this Sunday (or wherever you gather to worship)?

I believe God wants to do great things in hearts and lives. I also know that God wants us to ask him to do it. James 4:2 says, “you do not have, because you do not ask.” God wants us to ask him to do great things. He wants us to ask with pure hearts and righteous motives. He wants us to come to him knowing that NOTHING can happen without him. Unless he acts, nothing of any value will happen.

God desires more for us than we can even comprehend. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work in us.” The Holy Spirit is working in each one of us who has a relationship with God through Jesus. He can (and will, and wants to) do more than we could ever ask or think. WOW! That’s a lot.

Question: Will you commit yourself to the Lord through prayer (and anything else the Lord leads you to do) and ask him to change lives this weekend at the United Gathering (or wherever you worship)? Won’t it be exciting when God moves and you know that you had a part in it by asking God to do it. Let’s come together as the body of Christ, rise up, and be the force that God wants us to be. It’s exciting to be part of his plan to bring the world to know him!
