One Story, One Need, One Prayer for the Metairie Campus
/Vintage Church is one church in multiple locations. These locations are in strategic neighborhoods throughout the city. Our goal for 2013 is to mobilize a movement in the city of New Orleans and around the world through Vintage’s three campuses. Here is one story, one need, and one prayer for our Metairie campus from Pastor Jim Caldwell.
One Story
When I was a kid, I used to play dominoes. Not the adult, table top game… the game where I would stand up all the dominoes on end in a pattern, tip the first one, and then I would watch with joy as all the dominoes fell down. That very same domino effect is happening right here in the heart of Metairie.
Josh Arceneaux was one of the first people I met at Vintage. He had only been a Christian for a little over a year. You can always tell, he loves being at Vintage and loves Jesus. One of his first prayer requests he shared with me was for his family. None of them had a personal relationship with Jesus.
Only a few months later, I met Josh’s sister Jailynn at a gathering. She came to know Jesus at that gathering. Not long after that, Josh’s mom, Joan started coming to the gatherings and she gave her life to Jesus. And last, but not least, some difficult circumstances surrounded Josh’s father, Jeff, giving his life to Jesus.
With a lot of prayer, sharing Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit, the Arceneaux family is falling for Jesus like a set of dominos. It’s just another example of the Vintage family being the church!
One Need
Beginning next Sunday, January 20th, the Metairie campus is responding to growth. We are adding another gathering to our weekly schedule. Our gathering times will be 9:00 & 10:45am each Sunday.
Due to this exciting growth, we have needs for volunteers in our vKids area. vKids volunteers serve on a rotating basis. With two gatherings, this allows you to serve during one gathering and attend the other gathering. That means you don’t miss a thing!
Our needs are for people to serve in the areas of bed babies and toddler/preschool. Please email our Metairie Campus vKids leader, Tiffany Englert, at tiffany@vintageunited.tv for more information. One Prayer
I believe the Metairie Campus is going to be a major hub for “sending out” people to begin new campuses. I want us to begin to pray together that God would bring the people to increase our attendance to 250 by the end of the year and that we would be ready to launch another campus with the main core coming from Metairie in 2014.
That is a big goal. This is a God sized goal! That’s why I love being your pastor and a part of the Vintage family as we live the gospel, love the city, and be the church.
