Serve the City through Crossroads NOLA

On any given day there are an estimated 4,000 children in foster care in our state of Louisiana. Children range in age from newborns to teenagers. Crossroads NOLA is a faith-based foster care advocacy organization making a difference in the lives of children in the New Orleans region.

During September, we are partnering with Crossroads NOLA to collect “3 Day Bags,” bags containing all the immediate necessities for children who have entered into foster care. These bags are used for the first three days of a placement when the court system is determining whether the child should remain in a foster home or return to his or her family. Crossroads NOLA will distribute these bags to social workers who will then give them to children.

Crossroads NOLA has provided Vintage Church with bags that need to be filled. Each bag is marked and a list of items that should be included is attached. Bags are age & gender specific. Each will cost about $30-$40 to assemble. You can pick up a bag at our gatherings and return it by September 30th.
