Vintage Church Family & Partners,

This past week has been a very challenging time for our city and region.  For the most part we have heard that although we have been hit hard, everyone in our church family is safe.  I am so proud of each of you and thank God for how He has protected us.   Thanks to all who have been praying and encouraging us through this time.  We are in great need for your continued support over the next few weeks.  Much like storms in the past, we now have a great opportunity to serve our city.  Believe and trust that Jesus is working all of this for His glory!

What’s Holding You Back?

I learned something real quick when I began seminary in the fall of 2008. I learned the lesson again when I became a pastor of Vintage Church. I learned that my lack of discipline could quickly hold me back from the incredible work God had called me to. After 5 years of marriage, 3 1/2 years of seminary, over 1 year of pastoring the local church, and 9 months of being a daddy I’ve learned I must develop discipline in my own life.

Have You Been Baptized (the right way)?

I walked down an aisle when I was 9 years old and was baptized by immersion. Years later God revealed to me, after an internal struggle, that I really didn’t know him at the time I was originally baptized. All I did when I was 9 was get wet. Here I was, an Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church of Mableton, GA, when God revealed to me I had not been baptized “the right way.” The right way is the way the early Church baptized. Baptism always occurred after a personal experience of salvation and was done by immersion. You may not baptize this way, but I think the Scriptures are clear that this is the way the early church did it.
